Vicky Foods Invests $21.6M to Double Algerian Baked Goods Output

Spanish company Vicky Foods has committed €19 million (US$21.6 million) to expand its baked goods factory located in Sig, near Oran, Algeria. This significant investment aims to double the factory's current production capacity for the Algerian market. The project will see the introduction of a new warehouse and two specialized production lines, one for sponge cake sheets and another for bread products.

The expansion is anticipated to generate approximately 100 new employment opportunities within the region. By bolstering its operational capabilities, Vicky Foods intends to reinforce its market position within Algeria's competitive baked goods sector. This development signifies a notable foreign investment in Algeria's agro-food industry.

The increased production capacity and job creation contribute to local industrial development and enhance national output in the baked goods category. This initiative by Vicky Foods underscores the ongoing growth and attractiveness of the Algerian market for international investors.
