Arab Housing Conference Continues in Algeria with Focus on Sustainability and Urban Development

The eighth Arab Housing Conference continues its sessions at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers, entering its second day.

Ministerial Visits and Leadership Transition

On the sidelines, Algeria’s Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, is conducting field visits with Arab counterparts to the new headquarters of the Ministry of Housing and the new city of Sidi Abdellah.

During the event, Algeria officially assumed the presidency of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Urban Development. The handover ceremony, conducted during the council’s 41st meeting, saw Minister Belaribi take over from Libyan Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Abubakar Al-Ghaoui.

Cooperation and Vision

In a press statement, Minister Belaribi emphasized Algeria’s commitment to advancing housing solutions that meet citizens’ expectations, expressing gratitude to his predecessor while promising substantial contributions to Arab housing initiatives.

Additionally, the conference included the first Arab-Chinese ministerial meeting on housing and urban development. The session, attended by Arab housing ministers and a representative of the Arab League, aimed to establish a robust partnership between the Arab world and China. Minister Belaribi underscored the goal of fostering a win-win cooperation model, highlighting the potential of this partnership to enhance housing and urban development standards.
