Location: Algiers – The Government-Walis meeting resumed this evening at the International Conference Center “Abdelatif Rahal,” with participants engaging in five workshops focused on development and the management of local communities.

The workshops are addressing pivotal topics aimed at fostering balanced and sustainable local development:
- Financial and Budgetary Mechanisms for Local Development: Exploring funding strategies to support social and economic progress.
- Food and Water Security: Tackling essential challenges to ensure sustainable resource management.
- Local Economic Development: Promoting economic activities that align with Algeria’s growth objectives.
- Modernization of Public Services: Enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of services for citizens.
- Sustainable Urban Governance: Implementing strategies for environmentally and socially sustainable urban planning.
Opening Remarks by the President
The meeting was inaugurated earlier in the day by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the Palace of Nations, Club des Pins. In his address, the President emphasized the importance of this gathering as an opportunity to:
- Strengthen achievements in improving citizens’ quality of life.
- Advance efforts to modernize management practices in public administration.
- Foster innovative approaches to governance.
