Algiers – The Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, chaired the ordinary General Assembly of Sonatrach on Thursday in Algiers, according to a statement from the ministry.

The assembly, held at Sonatrach’s headquarters, saw the participation of:
- Minister of Finance: Laaziz Faïd
- Governor of the Bank of Algeria: Salah Eddine Taleb
- Representative of the Presidency: Fawzi Amokrane
- Sonatrach Board Members
During the meeting, the assembly approved the company’s 2025 annual budget and adopted its medium-term development plan for 2025–2029.
Highlights of the Development Plan
The adopted plan focuses on:
- Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production:
- Intensifying efforts to expand hydrocarbon reserves.
- Enhancing the pipeline network to improve transportation efficiency.
 
- Refining and Petrochemicals:
- Ambitious programs to meet national market needs through advanced refining and petrochemical operations.
- Expanding export capacities for hydrocarbons and derived products to bolster Algeria’s international market presence.
 
The development plan aligns with Sonatrach’s strategy to strengthen its role as a leader in Algeria’s energy transition and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
