Toward Organizing Meetings Between Sonelgaz and Malaysian Energy Companies to Explore Partnership Opportunities

Algiers – The CEO of Sonelgaz, Mourad Aït Hamouda, received the Malaysian Ambassador to Algeria, Rizani Erwan Mohammad Mazlan, on Thursday in Algiers. They agreed to organize meetings between Sonelgaz and Malaysian energy companies to explore potential partnership opportunities, according to a statement from the public utility.

The statement explained that this meeting, attended by several senior executives of Sonelgaz, aims to support and expand the company’s external partnerships.

During the meeting, Mr. Aït Hamouda highlighted the human, material, and technical capabilities of Sonelgaz. It served as an opportunity to present the company’s activities, organizational structure, human resources, training programs, manufacturing policies, and efforts to localize services within the company.

For his part, the Malaysian ambassador expressed the interest of Malaysian energy companies in establishing “serious partnerships” with Sonelgaz, particularly in areas such as knowledge exchange, training, and the development of green hydrogen.

The meeting concluded with an agreement between both parties to schedule bilateral meetings between Sonelgaz and Malaysian energy companies and investors to explore ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
