Ministry of Culture and Arts Launches National Cultural and Artistic Program for Ramadan

Algiers – The Ministry of Culture and Arts has developed a comprehensive cultural, artistic, and intellectual program across the entire national territory to celebrate the month of Ramadan, according to a statement issued on Monday by the ministry.

The program includes various activities organized by the ministry’s provincial departments and cultural institutions under its supervision, covering national museums, the National Algerian Theater, regional theaters, cultural centers, libraries, and cinemas, with the participation of cultural associations and heritage activists.

This program features a wide range of events, including artistic evenings that combine music, theater, and intellectual discussions, providing “opportunities to spotlight artistic talents.” These activities will continue throughout the holy month, fostering joy, social, cultural, and intellectual engagement.

Cultural institutions such as cultural centers, libraries, and other supervised entities will contribute to a “dense, diverse, and outstanding” artistic program, offering cultural and artistic evenings, hosting writers, researchers, and artists from various Algerian genres, and presenting “unique artistic shows tailored to diverse audience tastes.”

In addition to artistic activities, the ministry has also planned intellectual programs in public libraries, which will open “exceptionally during nighttime hours.” This will allow citizens to interact with books and cultural activities through lectures and cultural seminars featuring experts, authors, and writers.

The National Algerian Theater will present a variety of theatrical performances addressing social and intellectual themes that resonate with the Algerian reality. Meanwhile, regional theaters across the country will organize diverse shows inspired by Algerian folklore, incorporating local arts and contributing to the enhancement of national cultural identity.

In the field of cinema, various movie theaters and cine-clubs have programmed screenings of both new and classic Algerian feature films, as well as documentaries highlighting Algerian heritage, aiming to “raise public awareness of national history.”

National museums will also offer extended visiting hours, including “nighttime and weekend visits,” with museum guides available to lead these tours.

Details of this program can be found on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Culture and Arts.
