Algiers – The Minister of Transport, Mr. Saïd Saaed, chaired a coordination meeting on Saturday in Algiers, attended by central directors of the sector and several managers of public enterprises and sectoral institutions, according to a statement from the ministry.
The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters, focused on discussing various issues related to land, maritime, and air transport modes. Among the key topics addressed were “ensuring the supply of fuel to southern regions through coordination between the logistics group Logitrans and the national fuel company Naftal,” as well as reviewing the progress of renovation works on aerial tramways in Annaba, Algiers, and Constantine, with the aim of delivering them within the set deadlines, the statement noted.
The participants also reviewed the outcomes of unannounced field visits to six commercial ports to assess compliance with the 24/7 operating system implemented across the week, the statement added.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the creation of a specialized program to monitor and expedite the progress of ship repair works, alongside ensuring the security of Hajj pilgrimage flights operated by national airlines.
During the meeting, Minister Saaed emphasized the challenge of implementing ministerial directives to achieve the outlined objectives, which stem from the recommendations of the country’s highest authorities.
This meeting highlights the ministry’s commitment to addressing logistical and operational challenges while advancing key projects aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of Algeria’s transport sector.
