Algiers, March 23, 2025 — As part of Algeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships across Africa, Minister of State for Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Mohamed Arkab, will embark on an official working visit to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Monday and Tuesday, March 24–25, 2025. The visit follows directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and builds on the outcomes of his recent visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Minister Arkab will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, the CEO of Sonelgaz, Mourad Adjal, as well as senior officials from the ministry and other national institutions.
During the visit, Minister Arkab is scheduled to meet with several top Ethiopian officials, including the Minister of Mines and Petroleum, the Minister of Water and Energy, and the Minister of Trade and Regional Integration. Discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of hydrocarbons, energy, mining, and renewable energy.
In addition, the Algerian delegation will hold talks with leaders of various Ethiopian companies to explore new opportunities for economic and investment partnerships between the two nations.
This visit reflects Algeria’s broader strategy to deepen cooperation with African countries, in line with President Tebboune’s vision to foster sustainable development, promote regional integration, and create mutually beneficial strategic partnerships across the continent.
