Delivery of Bank Domiciliation Documents to Banana Importers

Algiers – On Saturday, May 10, 2025, several economic operators involved in banana imports received bank domiciliation documents to contribute to ensuring a regular supply of the national market, pending the establishment of a new specialized body to regulate import operations, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.

This operation, supervised by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig, is part of “implementing the President’s instructions to dissolve the National Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (ALGEX), enhance transparency in managing import operations, and regulate the national market until the creation of two specialized bodies—one for imports and another for exports—in line with the new economic vision.”

The statement noted that the delivery of bank domiciliation certificates “will continue for other economic operators, covering various products, until the new import-specific body is established.”
