Rome – The talks held on Wednesday in Rome between the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his Italian counterpart, Mr. Sergio Mattarella, expanded to include members of both countries’ delegations.
Prior to the meeting, President Tebboune was received with an official welcome at the Quirinal Palace by the Italian President, in accordance with Italian customs and traditions. The national anthems of both countries were played, and an honor guard from the Italian Republican National Guard paid tribute to the two leaders.
President Tebboune had arrived in the Italian capital on Tuesday, heading a high-level delegation for an official visit to this friendly country. He is leading the Algerian side in the fifth session of the Algeria-Italy High-Level Intergovernmental Summit.
This visit carries special significance in strengthening the historical bonds of friendship and enhancing bilateral relations across several sectors between the two friendly nations.
