Local Development Bank Net Income Rises 31% to Nearly DZD 23 Billion in 2024

Algiers – The Local Development Bank (BDL) posted a net income of nearly 23 billion Algerian dinars (DZD) in 2024, marking a 31% increase compared to 2023, according to the state-owned bank’s annual report approved by its general assembly.

The results show that the bank’s turnover reached DZD 96 billion, up 25% year-on-year, while total assets exceeded DZD 1,800 billion during the same period.

Customer deposits grew by 15%, reaching DZD 1,375 billion by the end of 2024.

Approved loans in 2024 increased by 24% to a total of DZD 662 billion. Outstanding loans also recorded a DZD 103 billion rise (+9%), from DZD 1,122 billion in 2023 to DZD 1,225 billion in 2024, reflecting the bank’s continued commitment to financing the national economy.

Listed on the Algiers Stock Exchange since March this year, BDL announced a dividend distribution of 5.5% for shareholders — exceeding initial forecasts of 4.25%.
