Algiers – Air Algérie announced on Saturday the formal completion of the ownership transfer of Tassili Airlines, in accordance with the agreement signed with Sonatrach’s external activities and support holding company.
According to the statement, this strategic move implements the directives of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at creating a national airline specialized in domestic air transport to strengthen connectivity between Algeria’s provinces and support economic and social development.
The completion of the transfer marks “the culmination of a well-structured regulatory and legal process, implemented in line with the highest governance standards to ensure a smooth and transparent transition, while maintaining continuity of operations and service quality for customers,” the airline said.
Air Algérie confirmed it is reorganizing the integrated company to boost operational efficiency. The new corporate charter will be applied gradually to the domestic fleet in order to “meet passenger expectations and raise service quality to the highest standards.”
The first commercial domestic flight under the new setup is scheduled before the end of August, marking “the beginning of a new phase in domestic air transport, built on integration, efficiency, and a citizen-focused service approach,” the statement noted.
Air Algérie reaffirmed its full commitment to leveraging all its expertise, human resources, and technical capabilities to ensure the successful integration of Tassili Airlines and the development of the domestic air network in line with Algeria’s vision for advancing civil aviation.
