Algiers – The fifth round of the Algerian Ligue 1 Mobilis, scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Wednesday, September 24, promises two highly anticipated fixtures: JS Saoura vs USM Algiers and Mostakbal Rouissat vs ES Sétif. Meanwhile, league leader Olympique Akbou faces a tricky away trip to Algiers to take on bottom-placed Paradou AC.
JS Saoura, one of the joint leaders with 7 points and fresh from an impressive 2-1 away victory against CR Belouizdad, aims to confirm its strong form when hosting USM Algiers, currently 8th with 5 points after a disappointing home draw with US Khenchela (1-1).
Mostakbal Rouissat, also topping the standings with 7 points, will have a “trap game” at home in Ouargla’s 18 February Stadium against ES Sétif (5th, 6 points), who recently regained momentum. The fixture promises excitement, with both sides eager to extend their recovery runs. Veteran coach Abdelkader Amrani’s men, who drew 1-1 away against Trédj Mostaganem, are determined to keep their positive dynamic and potentially secure a third victory this season, following wins over JS Saoura (2-1) and MC El Bayadh (1-0).
However, facing the “Black Eagles” will be no easy task. ES Sétif, high on confidence after their 2-1 derby win against CS Constantine, achieved their first victory of the season following three consecutive 1-1 draws against US Khenchela, JS Saoura, and MC El Bayadh.
Olympique Akbou, another league co-leader with 7 points, will seek to take advantage of Paradou AC’s difficult situation. Paradou sits at the bottom with just one point, having lost to Ben Aknoun (0-1), a defeat that led to the departure of coach Bilel Dziri. Playing at the August 20, 1955 Stadium in Algiers, Akbou will be determined to collect maximum points to remain at the summit.
