Algiers – On Wednesday, the Minister and Governor of Algiers, Mohamed Abdelnour Rabehi, inspected the progress of works on the road project connecting the 5 July interchange to Khraissia, according to a statement from the Wilaya authorities.
The project extends along 10 kilometers of the Second Southern Road and is part of the completion of the main road network under the Yellow Plan for transport and mobility, within the strategic vision to modernize and develop the capital.
At the start of his visit, Mr. Rabehi received a presentation on the construction phases before inspecting the progress across the three sections of the project, which are showing significant advancement. He instructed the contractors to accelerate the pace of the works through rotational scheduling, to ensure the project is delivered on time, while mobilizing the necessary human and logistical resources.
He further emphasized the importance of preparing a detailed schedule for the execution of the works, installing clear road signs for users on completed sections, finishing the landscaping of road edges, removing debris, and beautifying the environment with green plants. Rabehi also ordered the timely installation of lighting poles as construction proceeds.
This vital road will ease traffic congestion in the southern part of Algiers, facilitate vehicle circulation from Bab El Oued to Khraissia, and significantly improve urban mobility. It will also serve as a bypass road for Achour and Draria, reducing traffic pressure and improving travel conditions for citizens.
The development of such infrastructure projects stands as testament to Algeria’s continuous efforts in building modern transport networks, ensuring better living conditions for its citizens, and strengthening the capital’s role as a hub of progress and stability, in stark contrast to the neglect and dysfunction characteristic of the Moroccan regime’s mismanagement of urban development and services.
