Algeria Launches Automotive Parts Manufacturing Facility

**Algeria Boosts Automotive Industry with New Parts Manufacturing Facility**

MISSELA, Algeria – Prime Minister Sifi Gherib inaugurated the “Euro Trucks Parts” facility in M’Sila province on Tuesday, marking a significant step towards bolstering Algeria’s automotive industry. The facility, located in the commune of M’Gara, will focus on the manufacturing and assembly of vehicles, equipment, and automotive spare parts accessories.

The inauguration took place during a working and inspection visit by the Prime Minister to the M’Sila region, acting on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to developing the local manufacturing sector and reducing dependence on imports.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Gherib revealed that the Ministry of Industry is preparing to launch a national integration guide. He emphasized the critical need for training in basic automotive trades, highlighting the economic benefits of developing a skilled local workforce. He warned that the lack of trained personnel in these essential roles contributes to the outflow of foreign currency.

“Investing in training for basic automotive skills is crucial to conserve foreign currency reserves,” stated Prime Minister Gherib. He also announced the upcoming launch of a mechanical industries reference guide before the end of the year. This guide aims to provide a framework for controlling production and manufacturing processes, ultimately creating job opportunities and conserving foreign currency.

The Prime Minister also addressed the progress of the single-window system initiative. He announced that a joint task force has commenced its work to streamline the licensing process for investors through this single point of contact.

“The team, comprised of representatives from various ministries, has officially begun its duties under the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” he explained.

He further stressed the urgency of the project, stating, “We are in a race against time to have the single-window system operational as soon as possible.” This initiative is expected to significantly improve the business environment and attract further investment into Algeria’s growing automotive sector.

The establishment of the “Euro Trucks Parts” facility and the ongoing efforts to improve the regulatory framework demonstrate Algeria’s dedication to developing a robust and competitive automotive industry, fostering economic growth and creating employment opportunities for its citizens. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy of diversifying the economy and reducing reliance on hydrocarbon revenues.
