Algeria and Belarus have agreed on a roadmap to strengthen bilateral cooperation across several key sectors, marking a significant step in their partnership. The announcement followed a visit to Algeria by Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov, during which he met with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Ryzhenkov expressed his gratitude to President Tebboune for the warm welcome and hospitality, highlighting the fruitful discussions regarding the future of Algerian-Belarusian relations. The talks focused on identifying practical steps to implement joint programs in crucial areas such as agriculture, food security, and industry. This initiative aims to bolster food production and agricultural advancements in both nations.
Beyond the economic sphere, the agreement also emphasizes strengthening cultural exchange and people-to-people connections. This includes initiatives to promote mutual understanding and foster closer ties between the Algerian and Belarusian populations. Furthermore, the partnership will extend to the educational sector, fostering collaboration between universities and research institutions to facilitate knowledge sharing and student exchange programs.
A key element of the roadmap is the development of industrial cooperation. Both sides are actively working on outlining specific areas for joint ventures and technology transfer, intending to boost manufacturing capabilities and create new economic opportunities. The preparations are also underway for a meeting between President Tebboune and the Belarusian President in the near future, signaling the high level of commitment to strengthening the relationship.
Ryzhenkov further stated that the discussions encompassed the development of the legal framework governing bilateral relations. This involves updating existing agreements and exploring new legal instruments to facilitate trade, investment, and other forms of cooperation. Enhanced political and economic collaboration between Algeria and Belarus is a central goal of this initiative.
The Belarusian delegation will continue to work closely with their counterparts in various Algerian ministries to implement a number of joint projects. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both countries to translate the agreed-upon roadmap into tangible results and foster a stronger, more dynamic partnership. The focus on agriculture, food security, industry, and cultural exchange demonstrates a comprehensive approach to bilateral cooperation, aiming to benefit both nations and their citizens.
