National Campaign Launched for Early Prostate Cancer Detection

Blida, Algeria – November 10, 2025 – The Ministry of Health today officially launched a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting early detection of prostate cancer. Minister of Health, Mohammed Seddik Ait Messoudene, inaugurated the “Blue November” initiative in Blida, marking a significant step in the country’s ongoing efforts to combat the disease.

The campaign, centered at the Blida Cancer Center, is designed to raise awareness about the importance of regular screenings and early diagnosis. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Health, the initiative aligns with the national strategy to foster a culture of prevention and early cancer detection. This strategy is being implemented in close collaboration with the National Committee for Cancer Prevention and Control.

“This initiative is crucial for improving public health outcomes and reducing the burden of prostate cancer in Algeria,” stated a ministry spokesperson. “We urge all citizens, particularly men over the age of 50, to take advantage of the available screening services and prioritize their health.”

The “Blue November” campaign is also part of broader national programs focused on preventing non-communicable diseases. By encouraging regular check-ups and proactive health management, the Ministry of Health aims to empower citizens to take control of their well-being and improve overall health outcomes. The campaign will feature public service announcements, educational materials, and outreach events across the country to maximize its impact.

The Ministry hopes that this campaign will lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment, ultimately saving lives and improving the quality of life for Algerian men. Further details on screening locations and campaign activities will be released in the coming days.
