Parliamentarians Laud Investment Incentives in 2026 Budget

ALGIERS – Members of the People’s National Assembly (APN) have expressed their support for the investment incentives and social measures outlined in the proposed 2026 Finance Law. The parliamentarians conveyed their satisfaction with the positive economic indicators embedded within the legislation.

The endorsements came during a public session of the APN dedicated to discussing the draft law. The session, held on Monday, was presided over by Ibrahim Fakhouri, Vice-President of the Assembly. Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Boualzard, presented the draft law to the deputies on Sunday, in the presence of several government officials.

Several deputies emphasized the importance of the measures designed to attract both domestic and foreign investment. These provisions, they argued, are crucial for stimulating economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and diversifying the national economy away from its traditional reliance on hydrocarbons. The focus on streamlining bureaucratic procedures and offering tax incentives was particularly well-received.

Furthermore, parliamentarians highlighted the significance of the social provisions within the 2026 Finance Law. These measures, they asserted, underscore the government’s commitment to maintaining the social character of the state and ensuring a fair distribution of wealth. Specific attention was given to initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable populations, improving access to healthcare and education, and promoting social inclusion.

The debate surrounding the 2026 Finance Law is expected to continue in the coming days, with further scrutiny of specific clauses and potential amendments. However, the initial response from within the APN suggests a broad consensus regarding the overall direction and objectives of the proposed legislation.

DZWatch will continue to provide updates on the progress of the 2026 Finance Law as it moves through the parliamentary process.
