Algiers, November 12, 2025 – Parliamentary group leaders have lauded the comprehensive national vision embodied in the proposed 2026 Finance Law, emphasizing the crucial need to translate the outlined figures into tangible results for the Algerian people.
During a session at the People’s National Assembly, presided over by Speaker Ibrahim Boughali and attended by government officials, representatives stressed the importance of robust field oversight in program implementation, continued efforts to combat bureaucracy, and further advancements in tax reform.
Zouhair Nasri, head of the parliamentary group for the National Liberation Front (FLN), affirmed that the draft law reflects a complete national vision, embodying the state’s economic direction under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He praised the project’s holistic approach, particularly the level of expenditure dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations, and the focus on fiscal and customs control as cornerstones of economic reform. Nasri called for directing social support towards those truly in need and adopting innovative financing mechanisms to bolster production.
Abdelghani Toumi, leader of the parliamentary group for the National Democratic Rally (RND), commended the state’s efforts to maintain the stability of the national currency, raise wages, and support vulnerable groups despite challenging international circumstances. He recommended strengthening and precisely targeting social support, incentivizing investment, and continuing the reform of the tax system, expressing his group’s full support for the Finance Law.
Ahsan Hani, head of the parliamentary group for the Free Front, asserted that the budget under discussion demonstrates Algeria’s ability to overcome difficulties and implement a development plan that contributes to job creation, reduces unemployment, and enhances purchasing power. He stressed the need to implement the planned measures on the ground and strengthen oversight to ensure that public funds are directed to those who deserve them.
Speaking on behalf of the Future Front parliamentary group, Fatih Brikaat, representing group leader Fatih Boutabik, stated that the Finance Law perfectly embodies the transition from an economy dependent on hydrocarbons to a production-based economy. He also called for accelerating the pace of project implementation and strengthening oversight.
Bachir Amri, head of the parliamentary group for the National Construction Movement, indicated that the 2026 Finance Law contains promising indicators, calling for reform of the tax system and expansion of its base, while integrating the informal economy.
