Algeria Boosts Oil Production for Sixth Consecutive Month

Algiers – Algeria has continued its upward trend in crude oil production, marking the sixth consecutive month of increases. According to the latest monthly report from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Algeria’s oil output reached 956,000 barrels per day (bpd) in October 2025. This represents a 4,000 bpd increase compared to September.

This sustained growth brings Algeria’s production close to its highest level since December 2023, when it reached 957,000 bpd. The increase is attributed to Algeria’s commitment to OPEC+ policies and its gradual phasing out of voluntary production cuts, which began in November 2022 and are scheduled to continue until the end of 2026. The total reduction amounts to two million barrels per day.

The rising production figures reflect the decision by eight OPEC+ member states, including Algeria, to gradually restore 2.2 million bpd of voluntary cuts to the market, starting in April 2025 and concluding in September. Further reductions of 1.65 million bpd were added from October 2025, with a monthly increase of 137,000 bpd. The plan has been adjusted to continue until December, before pausing in the first quarter of 2026.

Based on these decisions, Algeria’s production is projected to reach 967,000 bpd in November and 971,000 bpd in December. This level is expected to be maintained until March 2026, taking into account the maximum limit set by OPEC+ policy of 963,000 bpd for October.

Across OPEC+, crude oil production experienced a slight decrease to 43.02 million bpd in October, compared to 43.09 million bpd in September. However, OPEC member states alone saw an increase in production, reaching 28.46 million bpd compared to 28.42 million bpd the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded over 10 million bpd, while Russia produced 9.38 million bpd. The United Arab Emirates saw its production rise to 3.36 million bpd, and Iraq reached 4.09 million bpd.
