Blida law enforcement conducted a series of extensive security operations this week in the Wadi El Alleug district. The operations, involving various operational units from the Blida State Security apparatus, targeted individuals with prior criminal records implicated in illicit drug trafficking, psychotropic substance dealing, theft, and involvement in neighborhood gangs.
Under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, search warrants and arrest warrants were executed at multiple locations within Blida. These actions resulted in the apprehension of 17 individuals. Authorities also seized an assortment of edged weapons of varying types and sizes, a quantity of assorted psychotropic substances, and cannabis. Furthermore, police recovered sums of money believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Cases have been prepared against the arrested individuals, who are now facing prosecution before the Affroun Court. The charges relate to illegal possession of weapons, drug trafficking and other crimes.
In a separate but related incident, officers from the Beni Tamou Urban Security division apprehended two individuals, both with prior convictions for similar offenses. During the arrest, police confiscated 100 meters of internet cables. These suspects have also been presented before the relevant Public Prosecutor’s Office.
