Algiers, November 15, 2025 – The Minister of Internal Trade and Market Regulation, Amel Abdelatif, today received a delegation from the General Union of Algerian Traders and Craftsmen. The meeting, held in Algiers, saw discussions centered on the current state of internal trade and key challenges facing the sector.
The delegation was led by the Secretary-General of the Union, Issam Badrissi, and included heads of various federations affiliated with the union. The discussions provided a platform for the Union to directly address the Minister regarding pressing concerns of its members.
A key focus of the meeting was the overall situation of internal trade within Algeria. Both the Minister and the Union representatives engaged in a thorough assessment of supply conditions across the country. This included examining the availability of essential goods and the efficiency of distribution networks.
The Union delegation also used the opportunity to raise specific concerns voiced by traders and craftsmen throughout Algeria. These concerns primarily revolved around the organization and regulation of markets, as well as the crucial issue of price controls. The discussions aimed to identify potential solutions to stabilize prices and ensure fair competition within the market.
Minister Abdelatif reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the trade sector and addressing the challenges faced by traders and craftsmen. Further meetings and consultations are expected to take place in the coming weeks to develop concrete strategies and policies based on the issues raised during today’s meeting.
