Four Algerian clubs from the ‘Mobilis’ Professional League 1 have secured spots within the top 20 African football clubs for 2025, according to the latest rankings released by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).
MC Alger, the reigning league champions for the past two seasons, leads the Algerian contingent, claiming the 12th position in Africa with a score of 97.5 points. This achievement highlights the club’s consistent performance and dominance in the domestic league.
Hot on their heels is USM Alger, the Algerian Cup winners, who secured the 13th spot with 93 points. Their success in the cup competition has contributed significantly to their high ranking amongst African clubs.
CR Belouizdad, despite finishing as runners-up in the Algerian Cup 2025 and securing third place in the league, follows closely behind in 14th place with 92 points. Their strong performance throughout the season solidifies their position as a top contender in Algerian football.
Rounding out the Algerian quartet is CS Constantine, who represented Algeria in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals in the latest edition. They secured the 15th position with 78 points, demonstrating their competitiveness on the continental stage.
At the top of the continental rankings, Egyptian side Pyramids FC leads with an impressive 235.5 points. They are followed by fellow Egyptian giants Al Ahly in second place with 190.5 points. Tunisian powerhouse Esperance, featuring Algerian internationals Mohamed Amine Tougai and Youcef Belaili, occupies the third position.
The strong showing of Algerian clubs in these rankings underscores the growing strength and competitiveness of Algerian football on the African continent.
