Algiers – In a significant move to address housing needs and commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Algerian Revolution, the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City has overseen the distribution of over 94,000 housing units across the nation.
This large-scale operation, one of the most extensive in recent years, has reached 65.54% completion, with a total of 94,781 units distributed out of the planned 144,601. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to providing decent housing and improving living conditions for its citizens.
The Minister of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City, Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, officially launched this phase of the distribution from Bejaia province on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The program has seen considerable progress in several provinces, with some achieving near-complete distribution of allocated housing.

To ensure the smooth execution of the program, regional housing directors have conducted site visits across numerous provinces, including Bechar, Khenchela, Bejaia, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Laghouat, El Oued, Oum El Bouaghi, Tissemsilt, Tiaret, Mascara, M’sila, Tizi Ouzou, Djanet, and Skikda. These visits aim to:
- Monitor the progress of ongoing housing projects.
- Resolve any on-site obstacles that may hinder delivery.
- Prepare for future distribution phases.
This initiative is part of a broader government policy focused on supporting Algerian families by providing access to adequate housing, stimulating the construction sector, promoting urban development, and reinforcing social justice. The Ministry of Housing reiterates its dedication to ensuring the timely delivery of all planned housing units.
