Algiers – A new agreement signed today paves the way for the launch of a digital platform designed to simplify import procedures for Algerian businesses. The Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion and the High Commissariat for Digitalization finalized the cooperative agreement in Algiers, signaling a commitment to modernizing trade practices.
The platform, expected to launch later this month, will allow economic operators to manage their import activities independently through a centralized digital system. This initiative aims to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and enhance efficiency in the import process, ultimately benefiting Algerian businesses engaged in international trade.
“This platform represents a significant step forward in our efforts to digitize and streamline trade operations,” stated a representative from the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion. “By providing businesses with a user-friendly digital tool, we aim to foster a more competitive and dynamic trading environment.”
The High Commissariat for Digitalization emphasized the platform’s role in promoting transparency and accountability. The digital system will provide real-time tracking of import processes, reducing the potential for delays and irregularities. Furthermore, the platform is designed to be scalable and adaptable, allowing for future integration with other government services.
The launch of this digital platform aligns with the government’s broader strategy to promote economic diversification and enhance Algeria’s competitiveness in the global marketplace. By simplifying import procedures and reducing administrative burdens, the government hopes to encourage greater participation from Algerian businesses in international trade and attract foreign investment.
The platform is expected to be rolled out in phases, with initial focus on key sectors and gradual expansion to encompass a wider range of industries. Training and support will be provided to businesses to ensure a smooth transition to the new digital system.
