1000th Arms Shipment Arrives in Israel Amid Ongoing Conflict

The Israeli Ministry of Defense has announced the arrival of the 1000th cargo plane carrying military supplies at Ben Gurion Airport. This milestone marks a significant point in the ongoing airlift operation, initiated on October 7, 2023, designed to bolster Israel’s military capabilities.

According to the Ministry, the operation represents an unprecedented logistical undertaking, involving the transcontinental transport of over 120,000 tons of military equipment, munitions, combat resources, and protective gear. This has been accomplished through a combination of air and sea shipments, utilizing approximately 1000 aircraft and 150 ships.

US and German Support

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that this operation is a collaborative effort with the United States and Germany. Through this partnership, Israel has acquired and transported advanced munitions, weaponry, armored vehicles, medical equipment, communication systems, and personal protective equipment.

The ongoing air and sea bridge is considered crucial for maintaining the operational readiness of Israel’s security apparatus, replenishing emergency stockpiles, and ensuring a rapid and precise response to the needs of combat units across various fronts.

Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Major General (Res.) Amir Baram, stated that the Ministry has been leading a substantial effort over the past two years to guarantee the provision of combat equipment, industrial resources, technology, and all necessary materials to empower the military’s operational capabilities.

Canadian Arms Shipments?

Maariv newspaper reports suggest that Canada continues to send military equipment to Israel despite Ottawa’s announced arms export ban. The “Arms Embargo Now” coalition documented shipments of military components to Israeli arms companies and hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition since the start of the Gaza conflict, challenging Canada’s public stance.
