Algeria and Vietnam Forge Stronger Ties with Strategic Agreements

Algeria and Vietnam have significantly strengthened their bilateral cooperation through the signing of a series of strategic agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). The signing ceremony, held at the International Conference Center, was overseen by Algerian Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Grib, and his Vietnamese counterpart, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

These agreements aim to bolster collaboration between the two nations across various key sectors. The documents signed include the minutes of the 13th session of the Algerian-Vietnamese Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, which took place on November 16th and 17th. An addendum to the general protocol on debt treatment between the two countries was also signed, alongside an MoU between the Algerian Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City, and the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction, focusing on housing, urban development, and city planning.

Further agreements encompassed cooperation in the field of education, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and an MoU between the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology of Vietnam.

Economic cooperation received a boost with the signing of a letter of intent between the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion and the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

During a press briefing, both Prime Ministers, Mr. Sifi Grib and Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, praised the efforts made to enhance relations between Algeria and Vietnam, emphasizing the importance of expanding partnerships across diverse fields. The agreements are expected to usher in a new era of strengthened economic, technological, and cultural exchange between the two nations.

These agreements represent a significant step forward in solidifying the bond between Algeria and Vietnam, paving the way for increased collaboration and mutual benefit in the years to come.
