Constantine, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today inaugurated a new pharmaceutical manufacturing complex in Constantine, marking a significant step towards bolstering Algeria’s domestic drug production capacity.
The President toured the various production units of the state-of-the-art facility, highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening the national pharmaceutical industry. The complex is designed to produce a wide range of medications, focusing on critical areas of healthcare.
The new facility specializes in the production of respiratory inhalers, medications for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) ailments, and soft gelatin capsules. Furthermore, the complex will also manufacture cancer medications, addressing a critical need in the Algerian healthcare system.
The expansive complex, spanning 27,000 square meters, represents a substantial investment in the region and is expected to create over 500 new jobs. This injection of employment opportunities will provide a significant boost to the local economy and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of Constantine.
The inauguration of this pharmaceutical complex underscores the government’s dedication to enhancing healthcare access and reducing reliance on imported medications.
