President Tebboune Launches Construction of Major Sports Complex

Constantine, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today laid the foundation stone for a major new sports complex in Constantine, marking a significant investment in the region’s sporting infrastructure. The project, a cornerstone of the government’s commitment to promoting youth development and athletic excellence, promises to be a state-of-the-art facility for both athletes and spectators.

The centerpiece of the complex is a football stadium with a seating capacity of 30,000. Integrated within the stadium structure is accommodation for athletes and officials, featuring 60 rooms. Accompanying the main stadium are two dedicated training pitches, ensuring ample space for practice and preparation.

Beyond football, the complex will cater to a diverse range of sporting activities. An Olympic-size swimming pool, capable of seating 3,000 spectators, is included in the design. A multi-sports hall, with a capacity of 2,000, will provide a venue for indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, and handball. Three tennis courts will also be constructed, further enhancing the complex’s versatility.

The project also addresses logistical needs with a helicopter landing pad and parking facilities for 3,500 vehicles. Two natural turf farms will ensure a consistent supply of high-quality playing surfaces for the football stadium and training pitches. A dedicated energy hub will provide sustainable power to the entire complex.

The completion of this sports complex is expected to have a significant positive impact on the local community, fostering a greater interest in sports and providing opportunities for young athletes to develop their talents. The new facility is poised to become a hub for regional and national sporting events, bringing economic benefits and enhancing Constantine’s reputation as a vibrant city. President Tebboune’s presence at the groundbreaking ceremony underscores the importance the government places on this ambitious project.
