Batna, Algeria – A moderate earthquake has been recorded in the Batna province of Algeria, marking the second seismic event in the region within 24 hours.
According to the Research Center in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics (CRAAG), the earthquake struck at 07:56 local time today, registering a magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located approximately 9 kilometers northwest of Ouled Salam, a town within the Batna province.
This seismic activity follows a similar event that occurred yesterday, November 19th, at 09:26. That earlier tremor registered a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale and was centered in the same general area.
While neither earthquake is considered significantly damaging, the repeated tremors have raised concerns among local residents. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely. No reports of injuries or significant property damage have been received at this time.
