Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Tuesday that preliminary university registration and orientation for students who obtained the 2026 Baccalaureate will begin on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the first registration phase will remain open until July 19, 2026. During this period, successful Baccalaureate graduates will be required to complete their university choices and submit their preferences for available higher education programmes.
The ministry stressed that preliminary registration must be completed exclusively online through the official orientation platform at orientation-esi.dz. Students can also access the platform by scanning the QR code provided in the ministry’s official announcement.
Through the online portal, students will be able to consult the list of university programmes available to them based on their Baccalaureate stream, overall results, grades in key subjects and the geographical distribution rules applied by the higher education sector.
Applicants are advised to carefully study the available options before confirming their choices. They should also respect the registration schedule and regularly check the platform for instructions, updates and the results of the orientation process.
The digital system is intended to simplify university registration procedures, reduce the need for students to travel and ensure equal access to information for new graduates across the country.
Students should use only the official website and avoid unofficial pages or links that may provide inaccurate or misleading information. They are also encouraged to keep their Baccalaureate registration details and personal access information secure throughout the process.
The preliminary registration stage is a key step in determining each student’s future university programme. Graduates are therefore encouraged to make their choices according to their academic performance, personal interests and professional ambitions.
The Ministry of Higher Education is expected to provide further guidance on confirmation dates, orientation results, appeals and final registration procedures through its official communication channels.
