Banque Extérieure d’Algérie Expands, Opens Three Branches in France

Algiers, Algeria – Banque Extérieure d’Algérie (BEA) has inaugurated three new branches in France, marking a significant step in the bank’s international expansion strategy. The openings took place in Saint-Denis, Courbevoie, and Marseille.

The inauguration ceremonies were attended by key figures, including the Chairman of the Board, Hadi Soltani, and the Acting General Manager, Mounir Belalia, as well as Mohamed El Yamine Lebou, General Manager of BEA International, and representatives from the Algerian diaspora.

In a statement, BEA described the launch of these wholly-owned subsidiaries as a “new historic step” and a “major milestone” in its international development plans. Acting General Manager Belalia emphasized the importance of the event, stating that it represents a pivotal moment for the institution and a crucial stage in its global expansion.

“This event marks a historic moment for our institution, and a decisive step in our international expansion,” Belalia said. He further noted that BEA, recognized as Algeria’s leading bank and ranked among the top ten banks in Africa by 2025, continues to fulfill its mission of supporting growth and providing innovative solutions to its clients.

Belalia added, “The opening of these branches responds to a genuine need: to provide a banking partner close to investors and those involved in foreign trade, capable of understanding their aspirations and meeting their needs effectively.” He expressed confidence that the new branches would serve as an important catalyst for the bank’s future development, emphasizing their foundation of ambition, proximity, and innovation.

The expansion into France underscores BEA’s commitment to serving the Algerian community abroad and facilitating trade and investment between Algeria and Europe. The bank aims to provide a range of financial services tailored to the specific needs of its clients in France, further solidifying its position as a key player in the region.
