Algiers, November 20, 2025 – The Algerian government is developing a comprehensive roadmap to bolster energy and social development in the eleven newly established provinces. This initiative follows the recent administrative restructuring approved by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjjal, today oversaw a meeting dedicated to examining strategies for enhancing energy infrastructure and public services within these emerging regions. The primary focus is on ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for residents and businesses alike.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the meeting centered on formulating a detailed roadmap for this ambitious undertaking. This roadmap will prioritize the construction of new energy facilities designed to significantly improve the energy supply and promote the quality and continuity of public services for citizens in these provinces.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry headquarters, Minister Adjjal, along with senior ministry officials and executives from the Sonelgaz Group, including the acting Director-General, reviewed a detailed presentation on the proposed development plans. Dr. Adjjal subsequently provided specific instructions and guidance aimed at making the roadmap more dynamic and effective.
