Algiers, November 20, 2025 – Minister of Labor and Social Security, Abdelhak Sayhi, announced new developments regarding the non-refundable grant provided by the National Fund for the Equalization of Social Services (FNPOS). The announcement signals a renewed effort to support housing initiatives across the country.
In a written response to a parliamentary inquiry, Minister Sayhi confirmed that a second phase of the FNPOS housing grant program will be launched. “Registration for the second phase of FNPOS will commence upon completion of the necessary organizational and financial procedures,” he stated.
The Minister acknowledged that limited financial resources previously constrained the Fund’s ability to meet the high volume of applications, particularly within the rural housing sector. This constraint, he explained, led to the postponement of application intake in July 2017.
However, Minister Sayhi emphasized that improvements in the Fund’s financial standing allowed for the relaunch of the grant program in January 2024. He further clarified that decisions granting state aid, previously provided by the National Housing Bank and the National Housing Fund in 2016, are being considered to facilitate the preparation and submission of applications by beneficiaries.
According to the Minister, all applications meeting the legal requirements and submitted prior to July 2017 have been reviewed and approved. Currently, the Ministry is finalizing the procedures for opening registrations for new beneficiaries of this housing assistance program. The announcement is expected to provide a boost to the housing sector and offer much-needed support to citizens seeking to improve their living conditions.
Further details regarding the registration process and eligibility criteria will be released in the coming weeks. DZWatch will continue to provide updates on this developing story.
