Geneva, Switzerland – Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rezig, held a series of meetings with officials and participants on the sidelines of the 16th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The conference is currently taking place at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
The meetings, which occurred during the third day of the UNCTAD session, focused on exploring avenues for enhancing and strengthening international cooperation in trade and development. Minister Rezig emphasized Algeria’s commitment to fostering partnerships that promote sustainable economic growth and inclusive global trade.
The Algerian delegation, led by Minister Rezig, actively participated in discussions on key issues, including the challenges faced by developing countries in accessing global markets, the importance of technology transfer, and the need for reforms to the international financial architecture.
Accompanying Minister Rezig at these meetings was Rachid Beladehane, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland. Ambassador Beladehane played a key role in facilitating discussions and representing Algeria’s interests on the international stage.
These high-level engagements underscore Algeria’s proactive role in shaping the global trade agenda and its dedication to fostering collaborative solutions to address the complex challenges facing the international community.
