Nouakchott, Mauritania – Sonatrach, Algeria’s state-owned oil and gas company, has signed a significant training agreement with the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company (SMH). The accord, finalized in Nouakchott on Monday, aims to bolster the skills and expertise of SMH employees in management and related fields.
Souad Abdellah, Director of Sonatrach Management Academy, represented the Algerian firm at the signing ceremony. Taleb Khiar, Deputy General Manager of SMH, signed on behalf of the Mauritanian company. The event was also attended by Ismail Allatou, Executive Director of Human Resources at Sonatrach, and Mohamed Khodja, Director of the Algerian Petroleum Institute.
The training agreement seeks to strengthen bilateral relations between the two companies and foster the exchange of knowledge and best practices. SMH will benefit from Sonatrach’s extensive experience and expertise through customized training programs designed to meet the specific needs of the Mauritanian company.
This collaboration will enable the implementation of innovative and targeted training initiatives, enhancing professional capabilities and promoting skills development for both parties. The agreement is viewed as strategically important, falling within the broader framework of cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania in the realm of skills development and training.
