Algiers, October 23, 2025 – Russian businesses have expressed strong interest in investing in Algeria across a range of economic sectors, signaling a potential boost to the Algerian economy.

Alexey Repik, President of the Russian business organization “Business Russia,” affirmed the readiness of Russian companies to invest in various sectors of the Algerian economy. He made the statement following a meeting with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune yesterday evening.

Repik emphasized that Russian institutions are prepared to exert every effort to develop partnerships with Algeria, whose economy ranks among the top in Africa. He highlighted the interest of Russian companies in establishing projects in several fields, particularly in the pharmaceutical industries, milk production, and e-commerce.

The President of “Business Russia” further stated that Russian companies are ready to contribute to Algeria’s goals of developing its exports, especially towards the African market. He noted the support of the Algerian President for joint projects with Russian institutions in Algeria.

Repik expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting, describing it as a continuation of previous steps taken to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly following the President’s visit to Russia in 2023, which saw the signing of several bilateral agreements. This renewed interest from Russian investors could provide a significant stimulus to Algeria’s efforts to diversify its economy and increase its presence in the African market.
