Algiers – Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Yacine Mehdi Oualid, chaired a meeting with professionals in the grain sector this Sunday, November 23, 2025. The meeting focused on addressing the concerns and challenges facing the industry.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Minister Oualid emphasized the government’s commitment to finding swift solutions to the issues raised by grain sector representatives. He reiterated the importance of the grain sector to the national economy and food security.
“We are fully aware of the challenges you face,” Minister Oualid reportedly stated during the meeting. “Our priority is to work collaboratively to identify and implement effective solutions that will ensure the sustainable development of the grain sector.”
The meeting provided a platform for open dialogue between the Ministry and industry stakeholders. Discussions centered on various issues, including improving grain production yields, streamlining supply chains, and enhancing support for farmers.
