Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Minister of State for Petroleum and Mining, Mohamed Arkab, participated in the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held in Riyadh.
During his address to the conference, Minister Arkab emphasized the critical role of UNIDO in achieving sustainable development goals. He specifically highlighted the importance of UNIDO’s contribution to Goal 9, which focuses on industry, innovation, and infrastructure.
“The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a key partner in achieving sustainable development, particularly Goal 9 related to industry and innovation,” Minister Arkab stated.
Acknowledging the increasing global challenges, including geopolitical conflicts, climate change, and the widening technological gap, Minister Arkab expressed his confidence in UNIDO’s ability to overcome these obstacles.
“Despite the increasing challenges of geopolitical conflicts, climate change, and the growing technological gap, we are confident that you will succeed once again in overcoming the difficulties,” he remarked.
Minister Arkab further affirmed Algeria’s commitment to constructive engagement and to strengthening UNIDO’s vital role. He reiterated Algeria’s readiness to work collaboratively with other nations to address shared challenges and build a more prosperous industrial future for all.
Algeria is prepared “to work constructively and continue to strengthen UNIDO’s vital role, working hand in hand with countries to face common challenges and build a more prosperous industrial future for all,” the Minister concluded.
