A Palestinian civilian was killed earlier today, Tuesday, after being targeted by Israeli forces east of Khan Younis. This incident occurred amidst ongoing Israeli military operations involving the demolition of remaining residential structures within the so-called “Yellow Line” area in the eastern Gaza Strip.
Medical sources confirmed the arrival of the body of a Palestinian killed by Israeli fire in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.
Reports indicate that an Israeli airstrike targeted areas behind the “Yellow Line” east of Khan Younis, coinciding with artillery shelling of the same locations within the city. A medical facility received one injured person as a result of Israeli aerial bombardment on Hassan al-Banna Street in Khan Younis.
Furthermore, Israeli naval vessels reportedly opened fire towards the coasts of Rafah, in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip, during the early hours of the morning. No casualties were reported in that incident.
In Gaza City, Israeli forces are reportedly continuing to demolish residential buildings within the “Yellow Line” in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of the city. These demolition operations have continued since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10th.
Hamas stated yesterday that ongoing Israeli violations pose a direct threat to the ceasefire agreement, emphasizing that the escalation reflects a “lack of commitment on the part of the occupation and the absence of international guarantees.”
In a separate incident, Civil Defense reported that three civilians were injured by an exploding object near the Hassan al-Banna Mosque junction in the al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis.
Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal stated that remnants of Israeli military activity “continue to pose a daily threat to the lives of residents.” He added that four civilians were injured yesterday in two separate incidents, one of whom sustained serious injuries after tampering with an explosive object.
The Civil Defense spokesperson reiterated calls for the international community to take immediate action to protect civilians, stating that “death lurks for our people under the rubble.”
