Algerian Icon Beyouna’s Final Wish Revealed

The Algerian artistic community mourns the loss of the beloved actress Baya Bouzar, known affectionately as Beyouna. She passed away at the age of 73 after a prolonged battle with health complications that had worsened since early November.

Days before her passing, Beyouna expressed a poignant final wish: to be buried next to her mother in the Al Alia Cemetery in Algiers. This request reveals the deep bond she shared with her mother and her enduring longing for her, especially during her recent health struggles.

Beyouna was a prominent figure in Algerian comedy and drama. Her natural presence and joyful spirit left an indelible mark on audiences. From her early roles in productions like “Dar Sbitar” to her more recent contributions to film and television, she secured a lasting place in the hearts of viewers.

In recent years, Beyouna faced a challenging journey, battling cancer and complex respiratory issues. This led to several hospitalizations. Despite the pain and fatigue, she maintained the gentle spirit and humility that endeared her to the public.
