Cairo, Egypt – The Algerian Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saayoud, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Bachir Yahia, was received by the Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, Kamel Abdel Hadi El-Wazir, on the sidelines of the ninth session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Committee in Cairo.
During the meeting, both parties reviewed the structural developments taking place in the transport sector in their respective countries, highlighting significant strategic projects currently underway. They also exchanged views on mechanisms to strengthen Algerian-Egyptian bilateral cooperation, particularly in the area of developing land and rail transport, modernizing their services, and exchanging successful experiences regarding the expansion of port networks and the development of port services and logistical capabilities, recognizing them as vital drivers of economic development.
Both ministers expressed their full readiness to strengthen bilateral ties and the strategic partnership between operators and institutions active in the field of transport in its various branches, which supports the development pace in both countries.
The discussions underscored a mutual commitment to fostering closer collaboration in the transport sector, aiming to boost economic growth and connectivity between Algeria and Egypt. The focus remains on identifying and implementing joint initiatives that will benefit both nations through improved infrastructure and enhanced logistical capabilities.
