Cairo, November 26, 2025 – Prime Minister Sifi Gherib held private discussions with his Egyptian counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly, at the Egyptian Cabinet headquarters in Cairo today. The meeting focused on the current state of bilateral relations and explored avenues for strengthening partnerships between Algeria and Egypt.
Following the initial private meeting, discussions expanded to include delegations from both countries. Participants received a report from the follow-up committee, which convened yesterday under the leadership of Algerian Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, and Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office, the report detailed preparations for the upcoming Joint High Committee meeting at both expert and ministerial levels. The focus was particularly on strategies to enhance bilateral ties and capitalize on cooperation opportunities across various sectors.
During the broader session, Prime Minister Gherib emphasized that this session would allow the implementation of the directives of both President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, following their summit in Cairo last October and subsequent communications, most recently on October 8th.
The Prime Minister added that the commitment of both leaders to strengthening Algerian-Egyptian cooperation and partnership has laid the foundation for a sustainable strategic approach. He called for leveraging the current momentum in relations to maximize partnership benefits, particularly in energy, trade, agriculture, industry, and investment. He specifically highlighted the incentives provided by Algeria’s new investment law to create a favorable environment for attracting foreign direct investment and increasing its flow.
Prime Minister Madbouly reaffirmed the importance of the relationship between Algeria and Egypt, stressing the need for continuous strengthening, particularly through promoting trade and encouraging joint investments. He reiterated the commitment and directives of both presidents to advance the bilateral partnership, expressing his belief that “Egypt’s strength is Algeria’s strength, and Algeria’s strength is Egypt’s strength.“
