Tunis, Tunisia – Tunisia has received over 3.5 million Algerian tourists since the beginning of 2025, according to the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism. This figure represents a significant portion of the total number of visitors to the country.
The ministry announced that Tunisia surpassed 10 million visitors by November 20, 2025, marking a 10.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The total number of arrivals reached 10,033,000, with Algerian tourists accounting for a substantial share of the influx. Last year, out of 10.264 million visitors, 3.5 million were Algerian, as stated by Tourism Minister Sofiane Tekaya before parliament.
Tourism Revenue Growth
During the first nine months of 2025, tourism revenues reached approximately 7 billion Tunisian dinars (around $2.33 billion USD), compared to 6.7 billion dinars ($2.2 billion USD) during the same period in 2024. This represents an increase of 8.3%. Minister Tekaya noted that the sector’s total revenues in 2024 amounted to 7.494 billion dinars ($2.34 billion USD), reflecting an improvement in the sector’s performance and profitability.
Continued Growth Projections
In March, Minister Tekaya expressed optimism about the tourism sector, projecting that the number of tourists in 2025 would exceed 11 million. He highlighted the increasing interest from European tourists in Tunisia, while emphasizing that Algerian tourists remain a cornerstone of the country’s tourism industry. The strong Algerian presence continues to be a vital component of Tunisia’s tourism success.
