Algiers, Algeria – Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, received Dimitri Shugaev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation, at the headquarters of the People’s National Army today.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of National Defense, the reception was attended by heads of departments, central directors of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the People’s National Army, as well as members of the Russian delegation.
During the meeting, the two parties held discussions focusing on the progress of military and technical cooperation between Algeria and Russia. They also addressed issues of mutual interest and explored avenues for strengthening existing ties.
The discussions underscore the ongoing strategic partnership between Algeria and Russia in the defense sector. This meeting highlights the commitment of both nations to fostering collaboration on military and technical matters. Algeria has been a long-time ally of Russia, particularly in the area of defense. This partnership is expected to continue to grow.
The visit by Director Shugaev reaffirms the importance Algeria places on its relationship with Russia. The Algerian government views Russia as a key partner in maintaining regional stability and security.
