A Palestinian national body has declared that resistance is the path to defeating the Israeli occupation, as Palestinians face ongoing conflict in Gaza and escalating aggressions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The National Authority for Popular Action affirmed in a statement marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People that the current situation is an extension of a colonial project targeting Palestinian land, identity, and holy sites.
The group emphasized that resistance, steadfastness, and popular action are the means to overcome the occupation. They stressed that the unity of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, within the country, and in the diaspora is a source of strength in the liberation struggle.
The statement called for rebuilding the national framework based on partnership, democracy, and expanded popular participation, returning national decision-making to the people, who hold the right and legitimacy.
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed annually on November 29th. This year’s observance comes after a period marked by intense conflict, particularly in Gaza, with devastating consequences.
The United Nations officially recognized the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in 1977. Events are held worldwide each year to show support for the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian group’s statement underscores the ongoing tensions and the continued struggle for self-determination.
