Syrian Man Killed on Wedding Day Defending Town from Israeli Forces

A young Syrian man was killed early Friday morning while confronting Israeli forces during a raid on the town of Beit Jinn, located in the Damascus countryside in southern Syria. The man, identified as Hassan al-Saadi, was scheduled to be married later that day.

According to reports, Israeli troops entered Beit Jinn, which lies approximately 10 kilometers from the occupied Golan Heights. Local residents engaged the invading forces, resulting in clashes that reportedly left 13 Syrians dead, including women and children.

News of al-Saadi’s death spread quickly, with many Syrians expressing their grief and admiration for his sacrifice. He was hailed as a hero for defending his town against the incursion just hours before his wedding.

“With sorrow and pride… Syrians mourn the young Hassan al-Saadi after his martyrdom on the morning of his wedding day while confronting the Israeli occupation forces during their storming of the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside,” one social media post read.

Reports indicate that Israeli forces encountered resistance from local youths in Beit Jinn. The ensuing clashes resulted in injuries to at least six Israeli soldiers, some reportedly in serious condition.

Al-Saadi, born in Beit Jinn in 1999, had previously worked as a shepherd before joining the internal security forces. While Israeli incursions into the area are not uncommon, this incident marks a notable escalation due to the fierce resistance and reported casualties among the Israeli military.

The situation in the region remains tense following the incident.
