Algiers, Algeria – Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, received Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Trade, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, on Saturday, ahead of a major international conference set to take place in Algiers.
The conference, focused on the crimes of colonialism in Africa, will commence on Sunday. This event underscores Algeria’s commitment to addressing the historical injustices inflicted upon the African continent.
The meeting between Minister Attaf and Minister Nandi-Ndaitwah served as an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between Algeria and Namibia, with discussions centered on fostering cooperation on issues of mutual interest, as well as reaffirming their shared dedication to African unity and development.
“This conference is a crucial step in acknowledging the past and working towards a future where such atrocities are never repeated,” a source within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
Furthermore, Algeria is also preparing to host the 12th edition of the “Oran Process” on Peace and Security in Africa, scheduled to begin on Monday. This initiative highlights Algeria’s ongoing efforts to promote stability and security across the African continent.
The “Oran Process” serves as a platform for African nations to collaborate and address pressing security challenges through dialogue and cooperation. The upcoming session is expected to focus on key issues such as counter-terrorism, conflict resolution, and the promotion of good governance.
Algeria’s commitment to hosting these significant events reaffirms its leading role in promoting African solidarity and addressing the challenges facing the continent.
