Finance Minister Unveils 2026 Budget: Key Figures & Projections

Algiers – Finance Minister Abdlkrim Bouzerd presented a detailed overview of the 2026 Finance Bill before the Council of the Nation on Monday. The public session, presided over by Council President Azzouz Nasseri, saw the attendance of several government officials.

Minister Bouzerd emphasized that the new bill aims to bolster the national economy, with a particular focus on the burgeoning non-hydrocarbon sectors. He stressed the need for further support and investment in these rapidly growing areas.

According to figures revealed by Bouzerd, the 2026 budget allocates total expenditures of DZD 17,636.7 billion, against projected revenues of DZD 8,009 billion. The budget is based on a reference oil price of $60 per barrel and a market price of $70 per barrel, allowing for projected petroleum tax revenues of approximately DZD 2,697.9 billion next year.

Economic growth is projected to reach 4.1% in 2026, increasing to 4.4% in 2027 and 4.5% in 2028. The Minister stated that these projections are based on both domestic and international data, as well as the anticipated positive performance of non-oil sectors.

On the legislative front, Bouzerd highlighted that the bill includes measures designed to protect citizens’ purchasing power, support economic growth, and create a more attractive investment climate. He affirmed that these measures are part of the ongoing financial reforms being implemented by the state.
