West Bank – Israeli forces have launched a series of operations in the city of Tubas and the town of Aqaba, located in the northern West Bank, according to reports from the region. The incursions, which began early Monday morning, mark a renewed escalation following a similar operation just days prior.
According to Kamal Bani Odeh, director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society in Tubas, a 22-year-old man was arrested after Israeli soldiers raided his family home in Tubas. Bani Odeh noted that the young man had previously been detained and subjected to field interrogation during the recent military activity in the city. He added that six other residents were temporarily detained before being released.
Eyewitness accounts indicate a significant presence of Israeli military vehicles and infantry units throughout Tubas and Aqaba. Reports suggest that the Israeli military has imposed curfews and blocked entry points to both locations with earth barriers, restricting movement for residents.
Further emphasizing the scale of the operation, Israeli forces reportedly deployed troops via helicopter in two locations near Tubas and Aqaba. This follows a four-day incursion into the same areas, from which Israeli forces had withdrawn just one day before the current operation began.
The repeated military actions in Tubas and Aqaba have raised concerns about the safety and well-being of Palestinian civilians in the area. The ongoing situation is being closely monitored.
